American Chemical Society NERM 2019 Undergraduate Programming for Sunday, June 23rd

1:00–2:00pm: Making the Most of a Gap Year Moderator: Prof. Tom Gray (The Sage Colleges)

2:15–3:15pm: Alternative Careers in Chemistry Moderator: Prof. Ellen Robertson (Union College)

3:30–4:30pm: Taking the Next Step – The Application Process Moderator: Prof. Lia Ball (Skidmore College)

5:00–6:00pm: Keynote Address – “Using Renewable Electricity to Rearrange Chemical Bonds”

6:30–8:30pm: Welcome Barbecue Dinner – Skidmore College, outside on Porter Plaza

  • Sign up and pay for dinner ($5) when you register for the conference

  • Casual dinner and conversation with all the speakers

  • Skidmore’s award-winning dining services will be making: Barbecue chicken breast; hot dogs; marinated portobello mushrooms; garden salad; baked potato with fixings; sliced watermelon; cookies; soda and water

  • Porter Plaza is #30 on campus map

  • Less than 1 mile walk from City Center to campus along North Broadway with historic mansions along the way; Uber and Lyft readily available

  • Public bus CDTA Route #452 runs directly between City Center and Porter Plaza
